Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

QERVICE 15 of the Southport Corpor

ation Transport system is being worked by a single-deck bus in conjunction with a 3d. flat fare (2d. child) for an experimental period of one month which started on Monday. The bus being employed is fitted with a ticket machine similar to the type used in Copenhagen and passengers with 3d. pieces are asked to use the right-hand entrance, inserting their coin into the machine. Passengers not in possession of a 3d. piece and children are asked to use the left-hand side of the wide, front entrance and to pa the driver.

The route chosen for the experiment is just under 2+ miles long, and has normal fare stages at +-mile intervals, with fares ranging from 3d. to 7d., although many of the travellers on the route are elderly people who pay a 3d. concessionary fare. Leyland PD2 doubledeckers seating 56 passengers are usually employed on the service; the experiment is being conducted with a 45-seat Leyland Panther Cub on loan from Manchester Corporation, fitted for the duration of the experiment with a Bell Punch Autoslot Mk. la ticket-issuing machine.
