well catered for at the David Lewis Hotel, Great George Place, Liverpool, where there was officially opened on Monday, by. the Hon. David Bowes-Lyon (brother of the Queen), the reconstructed Coronation Wing, which contains 82 bed.. sittingrooms, vitrolite-tiled bathrooms, and lounges.

Sir Frederick Marquis (managing director, Lewis's, Ltd.) introduced the Hon_ David Bowes-Lyon.

At the present time there are 82 bedsitting rooms in the Coronatidn Wing and 40 in the Jubilee Wing, which was opened in 1935. It is hoped eventually to reconstruct the upper floor and replace the cubicles with these bedsitting rooms, which are neatly decorated and are furnished with a single bed, wardrobe and dressing table.

On the ground floor there is a large dining room with white-glass-topped tables, where meals are served at low prices. In close proximity is a large lounge and reading room. The canteen is open from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., noon to 2.30 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is garage accommodation close to the hotel.

Charges for the bed-sitting rooms are Is. 1(kl. and 2s. per night, with slight reductions for weekly terms. The management of the hotel is prepared to enter into arrangements for the reservations of rooms for the employees of transport concerns, and for settlement for such accommodation direct with the employers.

The management committee comprises voluntary workers—the David Lewis Hotel is not a commercial undertaking.
