• South Eastern & Metropolitan LA Brigadier Michael Turner has reserved his decision over the alleged use of an unauthorised operating centre by Elstead, Surrey-based Frederick R Miller.
The LA is also considering the company's application to renew its 1 6-vehicles/1 6trailer international licence based at the Slyfield Industrial Estate, Guildford.
Turner had been told the company was parking vehicles at Hewitt's Home Farm, Shackleford, Godalming. It had been refused authority to use this site as an operating centre following objections from Surrey County Council, Guildford Borough Council and neighbouring residents.
An appeal against that decision was rejected by the Transport Tribunal in October 1994.
For Miller, Colin Ward said the company believed that the "operating centre" was a place where the authorised vehicles were normally kept when not in use. Idle vehicles were parked at the farm, rather than returning to the authorised operating centre, because ofoperational difficulties.
Turner is to announce his decision in writing.
