the twostage injection versions of Perkins' Prima two-litre direct-injection diesel engine in its Maestro van. The two-stage injected power plant was developed by Perkins in response to criticisms of the refinement of the original single-stage engine, and has been successfully adopted by Leyland Daf Vans in its 200 Series panel vans. Austin Rover says that by using the torque-axis engine mounts developed for the turbodiesel Montego saloon in the Maestro van, it has reduced noise and vibration to an acceptable level.
