• BRS Trailer Rental Southern has bought 50 European tilt trailers from West Germany as part of its preparation for the Single European Market, says trailer rental marketing manager Colin Barr.
The specialist TIR tilts include step frames with high cubic capacity and straight frames for UK and European use. They are all suitable for use on RO-RO ferries.
The latest purchase adds another new specification to the BRS short-term fleet, which has doubled in a year, says Barr. "BRS Trailer Rental is expanding to meet demand, especially from customers moving into Europe."
The new trailers will be based at BRS's Grays, Essex branch and at the company's latest trailer rental branch at Dunstable, Beds. BRS now has 23 branches in operation, with several more planned for this .ear, says Barr.
BRS Southern's engineering site at Dunstable has won a contract with road surfacing contractors Prismo to service and maintain its 56-strong fleet throughout the UK.
