Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE CM Save the Children Fund .appeal for drivers, mechanics and transport managers has met with an overwhelming response. At the nine of going to press, we had sent off well over 100 application, forms to volunteer drivers.

The applicants came from all corners of the British Isles. Many will be paid by their employers while they are .serving in the Sudan and they represent a wide cross-section of the industry, from the Post Office and Government departments to small fleet operators. • Iveco is sending a production line engineer from Turin and will pay his salary while he is abroad. Leyland already has a man on the ground.

The greatest single response was from managers of the National Freight Consortium, who produced 60 volunteers. Six of these men were interviewed yesterday (Friday) in London. NFC will release one of them on six Months' secondment to operate the distribution service from Nyala in Western Sudan.

Six drivers leave London's

Heathrow airport on Monday by Air France for Kartoum and should begin their convoy duties before next Friday.

We arc also looking for a machine shop manager and a first class storeman. These men will probably come from chassis manufacturers.
