Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EDBRO, the manufacturer of hydraulic equipment and tipping gear for commercial vehicles, showed a group pretax profit of £3.02m for the year ended March 31, 1979.

This is down on the previous year's total of £3.66m, despite turnover being up from £26.73m to £32.87m. The company says the road haulage strike in January was partially to blame for the reduced profits, but so far this year April and May production was at a record level.
