RETREAD MANUFACTURERS
Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Company have relinquished their appointment as secretaries of the Retread Manufacturers Association. STENOR Some items from the range of GKN Drive Line replacement transmission parts are now being distributed to garages and service stations by Stenor Ltd. The particular items concerned are Hardy Spicer transmission couplings for commercial vehicles and cars.
BROWN BROTHERS Brown Brothers Ltd opened a specialized services branch at 13/14 Mace Industrial Estate, Wellesley Road, Ashford, Kent {tel. 216451 on July 30 ROSSLEIGH Rossleigh Commercial Ltd, Aberdeen, lformerly Milburn-Wilkinson Ltd) has been appointed distributors for AEC commercial vehicles. Rossleigh already holds franchises in Aberdeen for Leyland, Scammell, Butec and Coventry Climax fork-lift trucks. The company has also been appointed distributors for the North of Scotland for Kysor Industrial (GB) Ltd automatic radiator shutters.
READYCALL The Mobile Radio Division of Burndept Electronics (ER) Ltd has opened its Readycall radio-telephone service in the Midlands area. Subscribers in existing areas who visit Birmingham. Coventry or the West Midlands by car will be able to use the new service without changing their equipment.
AEROGUIP The sales and marketing departments of Aeroquip (1.1K) Ltd Plastics are being moved from Birmingham to Cardiff. This move joins together the whole of the Polymer —Superseal Division's customer service departments. CHLORIDE The Chloride Group Ltd for the year ended March 31 made a tax-paid £6.88m 11972: £5.09m: 1971: f2.54m). So far as the current year is concerned, says the company, the UK order rate for industrial truck batteries has improved considerably.

The York Trailer Co Ltd has more than doubled its pretax profit for the first half-year to June 30, from £316,000 to £677.000.
