Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Barton Transport Ltd of Nottingham has begun a major renewal programme of its 300 bus and coach fleet. It has placed what is thought to be the largest ever order, for 145 coaches with the Kirkby Organisation. The order calls for 73 Leyland Leopards with platform bodies and 72 Bedford YRTs with Duple bodies.

The order is in addition to 31 new coaches currently being delivered by Kirkby to Barton. A spokesman for the operator told CM this week that it was envisaged that the fleet would eventually have no vehicle more than five years' old.

The new vehicles will all have coach bodies and replace some buses including double-deckers. Barton is hoping to attract more passengers by providing more comfort.
