Plenty of operators have been on the receiving end of Alan Law's activities as a trade union officer; few have seen or heard him in action with his own members. Recently John Darker was able to sit through an Alan Law teach-in for shop stewards employed by Texaco, and in next week's issue he will give a blowby-blow account, with pictures by staff photographer Dick Ross.
This August 10 issue will also feature a road test report on a 35-ton-gcw Continental outfit and a haulier's warning about the way in which lorries are being sacrificed to make way for buses in towns, with official blessing.
And Bill Godwin will be providing another glimpse of the European scene in road transport.
