MR. T. M. B. GUY has been appointed personal assistant to the managing :director of Guy Motors, Ltd.
MR. R. IMRIE has been appointed traffic manager to Stockport Co-operative Society. He was formerly assistant traffic manager of the Manchester and Salford Co-operative Society.
MR. A. R. MOORE has been appointed to represent commerce on the Transport Users Consultative Committee for the London area. Mr. Moore serves on the transport advisory sub-committee of Paddington Chamber of Commerce.
MR. G. A. DuatmErr has been elected to the board of The A.P,V. Co., Ltd. Since joining the company in 1935, Mr. Dummett has been successively laboratory manager and scientific manager responsible for research and development.
MR. P. RALPH, manager of the Scottish sales office of The British Aluminium Co., Ltd., will be leaving for New York next month to take up an appointment as vice-president of Aluminium Transatlantic, Inc. MR. R. A. MARTIN has succeeded Mr. Ralph as Scottish sales manager.
MR. K. G. LOWERY is IO be responsible for the sales of U.S. Royal commercial-vehicle tyres in London, Bristol, .Southampton and the Eastern Counties. MR. W. A. BOWER is to take similar charge in the Midlands, whilst MR. 3. K. HUNTER is to cover Newcastle, Scotland and Northern Ireland. These appointments of salesmen follow the announcement of new regional tyre sales managers of the -North ,British Rubber Co., Ltd. (The Commercial Motor, July 27).
MR, C. M. PLANE has resigned his positions as sales manager and director of Norris, Henty and Gardners, Ltd., and is, it is understood, to join the board of J. H. Plane and Co., Ltd., Johannesburg. MR. D. G. HOUGHTON, at present London office and service depot manager, will be transferred to the company's head office to become sales manager. His appointment in London will be taken over by MR. GEOFFREY SUTCLIFFE, formerly of Harold Andrews Sheepbridge, Ltd.
MR. S. POLKINGHORN, general sales manager of Compoilex Co., Ltd., has been appointed general commercial manager. MR. J. PICKTFIALL. formerly northern sales manager, has been promoted to home sales manager. He will be assisted by two newly appointed assistant sales managers, MR. C. V. HADLF.Y, who will be in charge of liquids handling, and MR. H. G. BERGIN, non-liquids handling. MR. A. R. DAVIES will direct the newly formed export department, and MR. R. A. 1.41-1Ea is promoted to the new position of service manager.
A30 MR. L. H. E. JONES, technical representative of the overseas division of Expandite, Ltd., is ter embark on an extensive overseas tour at the end of the month.
MR. DAVID BLEE has been appointed a director of the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., in place of Ma. J. W. WATKINS, who has resigned.
SIR CHARLES LILLICRAP has been elected president of the Institute of Welding for 1956-57. Mit: J. STRONG, a director of British Oxygen Engineering, Ltd., is vice-president.
MR. R. R. • HOVER, manager of the branch operating department, has retitid after 44 years' service with the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co., Ltd. At a dinner at Wolverhamptonshe was presented with a refrigerator by the managing director, MR. A. S. BISHOP.
