Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IT'S HAPPENED at last. The dreaded "transportant", to describe a transport expert, has escaped into operational service. National Carriers' group managing director, Brian Hayward (how could he?), let it out in introducing the new Transmode road-rail system.

"We're transportants," he said. As international operators they are also exponents, and importants, although I hope their charges do not make them extortants.

I remain an unrepentant newspaper reportant.
