Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Meniworth semi-trailers now have a modified rear-end in which the tail lamps are mounted on their own full-width member to form a self-contained electrical assembly.

The high-intensity rear lamps are mounted on a pressed-steel channel, 7in. deep and Ain. thick, with 1+in. wide flanges. The complete lights bar is removed by undoing only four +in. bolts. It runs across the neck of the deeply vee'd underrun rearbumper which has been a distinctive feature of Merriworth trailers for several years. The lights bar is therefore tucked well forward of the extreme rear of the trailer and is out of the way of most damage. The lamps themselves are protected against minor damage and pilferage by cages of thick galvanized-steel wire.
