Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The three companies in the Roy Bowles group were acquired last week by the Lex Service Group. The companies involved are Roy Bowles Transport Ltd, Roy Bowles Packing Ltd and Roy Bowles Handling Ltd, who trade as land carriers of air cargo. The companies, which are based at Pump Lane, Hayes, Middx, have been developed since 1959.

The deal is on a shares and cash basis amounting to approximately £250,000. The companies will continue to operate as previously and Mr Roy Bowles has accepted a service agreement with Lex.

Mr Bowles told CM that he had received overtures from a number of companies over the past three years. It is understood that one of the companies was Transport Holding Co, prior to the implementation of the 1968 Transport Act.

Mr Trevor Chinn, Lex Service Group managing director, said: "The new companies will rationalize and dovetail with our freight business, Albany Freight. This will permit a more complete service to be offered to their existing customers in both London and Manchester."
