THE East Midland Traffic Commissioners, in adjourned decisions made known last week, have granted applications by Provincial Garage (Leicester) Ltd., United Counties Omnibus Co. Ltd. and East Kent Road Car Co. Ltd. to operate express services between Leicester, Northampton and Ramsgate. A third application, by Barton Transport Ltd., to run between Stapleford and Ramsgate has been refused.

The applications, which extended over four days during January and February, were adjourned for decision after a

fourth operator—Thomas Motor Tours Ltd.—was given authority to run an express service between Newark and Ramsgate (The Commercial Motor, February 28).

Commenting on the joint application by United Counties and East Kent, the Commissioners were impressed with proposals to improve facilities by eliminating "the very unpopular change at Victoria Coach Station" in London and the shorter running time which would result by the use of the new Dartford, Purfleet tunnel,
