VrANCHESTER CORPORATION IILILhas just inaugurated a new motorbus service to Northwich, and this marks the completion of a big sel eme of development. The corporation has organized seven of the 10 routes now scheduled, and it has played a prominent part in the co-ordinating of the other nine, by which the people of such places as Salford, Stockport, Bury, and 13olton have, through the efforts of their respective corporations, derived definite advantages.

The service between West Didsbury and Cheadle was one of the first to be organized. By enlisting the services of the North Western Road Car Co., . Ltd., the corporation has been able to organize an hourly service between Macclesfield and the city. The company's service linking up Buxton, Chapel en le Frith, Horwich End, Whaley Bridge, New Mills, Disley and Hazel Grove was recently extended into Manchester, where the terminus is at the Lower Mosley Street bus station.

The journey between Manchester and Buxton takes, on an average, two hours. Another service run by the North Western Road Car Co., Ltd., in association with the corporetion, is that to Hayfield. A special feature of this service is the frequency of the buses on Sunday.

The Manchester, Salford,, Stockpert and Bury. Corporations have _joined:in organizing an express service which touches nine points between Dialstone Lane, Stockport and Bury. The service is half-hourly and is one of the most popular in the scheme. Ashton has combined with Manchester and Salford in a service of buses between Eccles, Manchester, Ashton and Stalybridge, whilst Rochdale and Manchester Corporations have sponsored a service between Bacup and Urmston.

Manchester also has a share in the express bus services to Bolton. In conjunction with the Salford and Bolton Corporations and the Lancashire United Joint Express Motor Bus Services buses are started at Hyde, and before stopping at Victoria Bridge on their way to Bolton halt at Denton, Reddish Lane, Belle Vue and Devonshire Street. Between Manchester and Bolton the buses include Pendleton and Pendlebury amongst the stops which they make. A popular service is run between Brook. dale Park and Weaste Road.
