Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I USED TO drive trucks nationally and internationally. I grew up around trucks, and my father and uncle drove them. I have recently been talking to some Polish drivers who park on a nearby industrial estate. After seeing them numerous times, drinking a beer with them when they were parked for the night, I got to where we were having a bit of banter and fun. I was taking the proverbial and asked them why they always go right around the roundabout without indicators. One replied 'we don't care' and two admitted they paid their instructor in Poland to pass their LGV test with no real

instruction or standard attained!

When they came to England they then swapped their licences for a full UK truck licence.

They told me it happens all over Eastern Europe. Needless to say I have not walked down there much since then — I am disgusted. This is incredibly dangerous, makes a joke of our system and of every professional driver who has taken and passed the test to do this job. I hope this issue can be investigated. If I found these examples in a small area of Yorkshire, how many more are there on other UK roads? Name and address withheld by request
