JOHN GILBERT, the Minister for Transport, has given his consent to the British Transport Docks Board's proposal to make an offer to buy the Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company.
THE Fiat commercial vehicle network has been expanded by the opening of two new sales and service centres. One is the Pre stage Fiat Truck Centre, at Eyre Street, Birmingham, and the other the Knibbs (Italtrucks) Centre at Warwick Road, Old Trafford, Manchester.
Both will sell and service the comprehensive range of Fiat trucks available to UK operators and have parts depots holding stock to handle both shortand long-term needs.

A NEW GROUPAGE service, opening on Monday between Southampton and Dublin and Belfast, is being •operated by Solent Express Ltd of Southampton on a once-a-week basis to each destination. The firm is to use 20ft containers and they will travel between Southampton and Holyhead by Freightliner.
The Dublin service will operate on Monday nights, the Belfast service on Tuesday nights.
