Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A time and labour saving hand tool, designed to place any of three different sizes of Avex break-stem rivets, has been introduced by Avdel. Known alternatively as the Avdel Type 760 riveting tool or, because of its appearance and operation, as the Avdel Lazy Tongs, it is suitable for lowor mediumvolume site fabrication of sheet materials in the motor trade.

This hand tool is supplied with interchangeable nose tips for placing kin., ?lin. or ain. diameter Avex rivets. It's easy to use, of simple construction and designed to give long trouble-free service. After fitting the appropriate nose tip for the size of Avex rivet being placed, the tonglike section between the nose and handle of the tool is fully extended and the stem of the rivet inserted until the head rests on the nose tip,

The tail of the rivet is then placed into the preformed hole in the workpiece and the tongsection fully compressed. This draws the tail of the rivet back towards the head, causing the former to expand and thus form a positive and completely weatherproof fastening. The stem then breaks from the rivet head automatically and drops away through the back of the tool.

The Avdel Type 760 hand

tool, which. weighs 311b, is supplied with a full one-year guarantee and is available from tool dealers and engineering distributors.

Price: £7 19s 6d.
