I MENTIONED last week that negotiations towards a common syllabus between the three "traffic" institutes were now a matter of urgency in view of the stringent rules being applied to minimum numbers required in evening classes.

Working towards a common syllabus is one of the easier steps in co-ordination between the Institute of Transport (IoT) and the Industrial Transport Association (ITA)

and the Institute of Traffic Administration (IoTA). As the separate examination schemes have many identical subjects, the present schemes are best viewed in tabular form to indicate their similarity for both the first examination (the Graduateship) and the final (Associate Membership)—where there are options, the road transport choice has been selected:—
