• A company to develop and produce automatic transmissions to meet European needs is being formed by two leading manufacturers, Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen A.G., West Germany, and Borg-Warner Corporation, Chicago, The new joint venture anticipates a total investment of S30-40m and will build a plant in West Germany for production in 1971.
High priority also is being given to expansion plans at Borg-Warner's transmission facilities at Letchworth, Harts, and .Kenfig, South Wales, according to Robert S. Ingersoll, chairman of the Chicago-based company. "The British-built Model 35", he said, "now is being supplied to 29 manufacturers for more than 80 models."
