Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Here at CM we don't get emotional about CVs but there was a certain sorrow on the technical desk after we handed back our long-term Navara, such was the relationship we had formed with this trusty pickup.

From the day she was delivered, we knew our brief encounter with our Nissan Navara was going to be memorable. We were immediately drawn by her imposing looks which made all the other pickups seem a little, well, under-equipped. But if the exterior was all about controlled aggression, inside we were cossetted in perfect comfort.

No matter what the conditions, she made sure our every need was taken care of. The driver's seat with its excellent support and wide range of adjustments (something several others lack ), the simple and stylish dashboard and the amount of usable space — both in the front and the rear—ail increased our admiration.

But this was just the icing on the cake, because the Navara's main attraction was in the way it went. You want a 200-plus-mile blast up North? No problem. What's that, you need to drive through central London during the rush hour? It'll he a pleasure. And all with such confidence you forget that its a pickup, which is usually meant to mean lazy driveline, suspension travel that can be measured in metres and body control that would make a drunk look composed.

However the relationship wasn't perfect, and like all the other long-termers we've encountered she had her lirnitations. The engine. for all its willingness.didn't deliver as much torque as we'd like from low-down. But once it passed the 2,000rpm mark there was a feeling of urgency that was welcome when overtaking or tackling rough terrain. And once on song that power was delivered in a smooth, progressive manner all the way up to the red line.

And now for the main reason why we've come over all smitten — the chassis. It's unlike any other pickup we've driven, displaying poise and control without so much as a murmur, come rain or shine.

And it's all wrapped up in a level of build quality we had never encountered in this class of vehicle. •
