A Salisbury-based skip hire company whose 0-licence was revoked last year has been granted a fresh licence at a Bristol public inquiry.
Total Skips had been running its only vehicle on an interim licence since February. Its previous licence was revoked last November and director Peter Mitchell was disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence. Mitchell and general manager Mark Tucker told Western Traffic Commissioner Philip Brown that their operation had improved dramatically; he had contracted out the vehicle maintenance and had set up a driver's defect reporting system.
Mitchell said the new regime had been implemented following a maintenance investigation by the Vehicle Inspectorate last August which uncovered some problems.
Company secretary Patric Brookes had attended II November hearing as Mitch' had not been available; he sa she was "effectively the tran port manager" and was respo sible for checking defe reports and ensuring the vet cle was maintained.
The TC said he was convinc( the company was now being rt in an appropriate manner.
