Group has been asked to consider rescheduling operations from one of its Rotherham depots following complaints from neighbouring residents. North Eastern Licensing Authority Frederick Whalley has made it plain that if this is not feasible, he will consider attaching conditions restricting the use of the depot concerned.
The company had sought a new international licence for 241 vehicles and 141 trailers, proposing to base a maximum of 12 vehicles and four trailers at Progress Drive, Rotherham. Eight residents living close to that depot made environmental representations at a Sheffield public inquiry.
For the residents, Mark Thomas said they were repeatedly being woken by the movement of the company's vehicles along Progress Drive between midnight and 07:00hrs.
Factory manager Richard Peel said 90% of its customers insisted on a delivery time before 07:00hrs.
