an undertaking to pay the balance of nearly £4,000 worth of tachograph fines. The deadline was the following day (CM 1219 April). A decision not to take any action against the company's licence rested on the money being paid.
Director Ian Evans admitted that, although the balance had now been paid, it had not been paid on 5 April. He said there had been some confusion over the exact amount outstanding, and they had paid £2,000 until the exact amount owing was confirmed in writing.
He felt that they had acted in the best interests of the company and that the undertaking had been complied with, apart from the timing.
