trading as Ronsons Reclamations, had applied for an additional operating centre for its 7.5-tonne tipper at Bentham Old Hall. The application attracted environmental representations from three local residents who said that the surrounding lanes were unsuitable, being narrow with blind bends.
Robins pointed out that the Transport Tribunal had said it was wrong for an LA to refuse an application on planning grounds.
It was for the planning authority to control the operation of goods vehicles.
Andrew Jones, a partner, maintained that basing one small lorry at Bentham Old Hall, which would enter and leave once or twice a day, was not going to make a lot of difference to the neighbourhood.
