gone into liquidation following the death of its managing director, John Woof, last November.
Woof ran the company for 22 years, and in recent times it traded successfully as a general haulage contractor. The company expanded rapidly in 1986/ 87 and took on bulk tanker work for Rugby Cement.
Margaret Woof, a director of Whoberley Haulage says: "The combination of his illness coupled with the economic climate and a downward trend in the construction industry, affected the general haulage business.
"A very wet November and December meant the bulk tanker fleet was very badly hit."
She and four other directors, appointed just prior to Woofs death, tried to fulfill his plans for the company, but were unable to do so, and called in the liquidator Alan Smith of F A Simms in Lutterworth before things got too bad. There were 15 other employees.
The fleet comprises 17 vehicles, including tractive units, tippers fitted with bulk cement dust tanks, light commercials and trailers.
