The UK company, which has been in business for 28 years, has a network of depots in the UK, and 25 bases in 11 other European countries.
It employs more than 600 staff, including 150 at its major East London hub in Barking, Essex.
UPS has been looking for a UK parcels operator for several months and has talked to other firms including NFC subsidiary Lynx Express Delivery Network and, it is believed, Tuffnells.
