• A new Manchester/Sheffield link should be considered as a priority in improving the North-West's roads system, the CBI North West says.
At a meeting with the Department of the Environment and the regional TUC, CBI representatives pressed the case for a dual carriageway improvement to the existing A628 Longdendale route.
The Department of Transport claims there will not be enough traffic to merit an improvement to the A628, but the CBI believes traffic forecasts are misleading.
