Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Chassis Developments of Leighton Buzzard is converting twenty 97kW (130hp) Ford Cargo 0913 rigids to 16.26tonne GCW low-height urban delivery artic units for IndCoope's North-East London depot. These will be replacements for ageing D-Series models.

To match with Ind Coope's existing semi-trailers, the rigids' wheelbase is reduced by 535mm to 2,540mm and its existing rear springs are recambered by 40mm using the front hanger brackets as original, but changing the rear mounting to an underhung spring arrangement.

The rear end of the chassis has been re-profiled using a new cross-member and, together with a Jost lightweight JSK 36 fifth wheel and lead-on ramps, gives an unladen fifth wheel height of 990mm.

Chassis Developments has also had type approval carried out on a two-line brake system for the vehicles.

Following conversion work, which costs in the region of 2,300 plus VAT, the Cargo 0913 tractive units end up with a kerb weight of 3,611kg.
