SOUTHERN British Road Services Ltd. have appointed a new man to head their Tilbury operation. He is Clive VickersClark, who previously managed their Folkestone sub-depot since joining the company in August 1978. Before that he was in international haulage. As branch manager at Tilbury his main responsibility will be supervising one of the company's largest clearfreight operations — moving forest products from the docks to destinations all over the UK.
R. E. (Bobbie) Lawrence, chairman of the National Freight Corporation, has agreed to serve as president of Commercial Motor Lorry Driver of the Year Competition. In this office he succeeds Sir Daniel Pettit, his predecessor at the NFC.
John Lambert, who is 46, has taken over as General Manager of Livingston MOTEC.
He joins the Board from Renfrew District Council, the third largest District Council in Scotland where he was employed as Director of Personnel and Management Services.
Derek Blatchford, managing director of internatio nal removers The Blatchpack Group of Exeter, has been elected President of the British Association of Removers.
A second generation removal man, with three brothers in the business, and over 30 years in the industry, Mr Blatchford has been a prominent member of many BAR committees — particularly its Overseas Group.
