Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The union representing postal workers seems to have as lithe sympathy with road safety as it has with service to the public. Its outrageous demands have resulted in the Post Office withdrawing its long-established. support for the Commercial Motor Lorry Driver of the Year Competition.

It calls for payment at treble time for drivers taking part in the competition and a fortnight off to prepare for it. As neither drivers nor vehicles are required to do anything in the competition that they could not be expected to do in their daily work, the preparation time is slightly baffling.

This attitude towards a lifesaving exercise is even more despicable than the union's Luddite approach to the mechanical sorting of mail.
