The bulk of the losses occurred at Anthony Carrirnore Limited where drastic pruning, whilst costly in terms of redundancy payments suffered, has cut this company down to a size at which even the smallest upturn in trade must yield a satis
factory profit.
Mr Fred Davies, the chairman, said: "There is little or no reason to expect an improvement before the middle of this year. Whatever the theoretical effects on the long term health of Britain's economy, the present Government-induced depression means that 1980 is a meagre profit year — and for some, even a survival year."
