THE MAJOR Swedish ro-ro line Tor Lloyd has announced two key developments in its drive to rationalise capacity in the North Sea freight trade.
The line — which started operations on April 1 — is to acquire 100 per cent of the shares in Oden Line AB and take over its North Sea service.
From mid-April, Tor Lloyd will also take over the North Sea container service of Scanis Container Line.
These latest developments will establish Tor Lloyd as the largest shipping company in the North Sea, with estimated annual carryings of over 2m tons and a turnover of Kr400m (£42m).
