ONE OF THE first Design Council awards specifically for the motor industry has been won by the Leyland National bus. The award scheme has been launched this year jointly by the council of Manufacturers and Traders.
The original scheme envisaged that only in an exceptional instance would an award be made for a complete vehicle but the panel of judges decided that the LN was such an exception.
