THE Bath and West and Southern Counties Agricultural Society's Summer Show opened at Bath on Tuesday lastamidst Ideal surroundings and fine weather.. It is 150 years since the first Showwas held. This took place at Bath, and it is only fitting that the anniversary should be celebrated there.

Generally.speaking, tlei' entries in the implement sections were upCo the normal standard of numbers, but the road vehicle section was very weak. In fact only a few manufacturers were directly represented, the bulk of the exhibits being in the hands of agents, except, of course, some bf the American firms. utility-vehicle. '

The only exhibitors of steam road vehicles Were Wm. Allchin, Ltd. (who showed a 6-ton hydraulic three-way tipping wagon), andFodens, Ltd. Wallis and Stevens, Ltd., had on their stand a model of the new Advance pattern roller with self-cambering hind axle. The claim is made for this roller that it will do perfectly every process of road rolling required. It is fitted with tyre blocks for both wheels.

Some of the motor agents had the best collection of road vehicles. Among these were Bath Garages, Ltd., showing Morris 8-cwt. vans and a convertible touring or goods body on a Morris chassis ;'the. Cater Motor Co., Ltd., showing an Overland 25-cwt. lorry and a 10-cwt. Whippet delivery. .van ; the Curtis Automobile Co., Ltd. The Kingsmead (Ford) Motor Co., Ltd., had a very large collection of various types of Ford lorries, vans and cars, and Fordson farm and industrial tractors, and accessories, besides numerous patent equipments for vehicles and tractors.

Of the large nuither of motor lawn mowers, the extensive use of which has been encouraged by the rapid growth in popularity of outdoor games and sports, as well as public parks, the following were the principal exhibitors :—Dennis Bros., Ltd., Guildford, two models only, 4 h.p. two-stroke engine ; Auto Engineering Co., various patterns auto-mowers from 15 ins. to 30 ins.; Ransomes, Sims and Jeffries, HawItes and Co., Kendall and Co., Tangent Tool Co., W.
