Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

By an Engineer-in-chief.

DON'T neglect the mechanical part of the van; it is the part that you see least of, but which matters most to you—but DON'T forget the publicity value of the bodywork of your van ; it is the part of which the public sees most, and that matters a lot to you as well.

DON'T forget that it is a crime to overload a van, and that it is equally criminal to over-drive it. Some people think they get economy that way by saving time. They soon get disillusioned.

DON'T forget that lubrication is the lifesblood of mechanism. You perhaps like a little good lubricant yourself, so does your van.

DON'T forget that just as "one man's meat is another man's poison,' so there are certain lubricants which are preferable for certain types of vehicle. The maker knows.

DON'T forget that the maker of a van knows more about it and its idiosyncrasies than you can hope to.

DON'T forget to avail yourself of tha,-:, information. Study the instruction book which every maker of

repute supplies. *

DON'T forget that a stitch in time saves nine—in the matter of mechanical repairs, as in all other matters.

DON'T -wait until your van is " sick " before giving it mechanical medicine. Diagnose ailments the moment the symptoms obtrude ; feel the pulse of your van

regularly ; look at its tongue and teeth now and again, and then it may never need the hospital.

DON'T forget, 'however, that a little mechanical knowledge is a dangerous thing, and that it is better not. to tinke.rswithsthings you do not understand. If your van wants expert attention, either take a to a good man, or employ one. '

DON'T expect to get goad work donefor nothing— or next to nothing. Sound mechanical knowledge is expensive to obtain, and should command a proper price.

DON'T neglect to carry a few spare parts in stock : the maker will advise you what to keep. It saves time and money when the need arises of replacing a part.

DON'T forget to keep the van wheels turning. Use your van when you have got one. The more you do so, the better value you get out of it.

Doses forget that much of van economy or expense depends on the driver of your van. Choose a good man, pay him well, and he will take an interest in the van and in your business.

DON'T forget that, in motor vehicle matters, cleanliness is next to godliness. Eye-wash can have a definite cash value in lots of ways. See that you get

it. And, finally, * *

DON'T forget that The Commercial Motor is always ready and willing to help you, with your.. problem; whatever they may be.
