Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The wife of a British haulier jailed in Gayo, Hungary is appealing to international lorry drivers to visit him with food and messages of support.

East Lothian owner-operator George Henderson was sentenced to a year in prison in January for failing to stop after an accident in which a pedestrian was killed. His wife Josephine says conditions in the jail are terrible, and she has asked Commercial Motor readers to help; she can be contacted on (0875) 612880.

A last ditch appeal by the Foreign Office and Britain's ambassador in Budapest to have Henderson's sentence commuted has been thrown out. He now must serve at least another 10 months.

His wife has already been to visit him once and he is allowed visits and food parcels.
