• Vehicles in road accidents can be decontaminated against the AIDS virus with a power washer before mechanics begin work. Jetwell, of 28 Molesworth Street, Wadebridge, Cornwall, believes its De-Con gun, which will sell at 2150, is the first purpose-designed one for this area of use.
Other applications may include forecourt toilets, refuse vehicles and ambulances.
The gun operates off a compressed air line or bottle, can spray neat or diluted chemicals, and can be decontaminated easily itself. It is made of stainless steel and chemically resistant polymers.
