Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

An adjustable shelf clip introduced by Dexion enables adjustable shelving to be built at a cost similar to that of bolted slotted-angle structures without sacrifice of load-carrying capacity. The clip locks behind the slotted-angle upright in two places which spreads the load : the shelf is held positively in position. It is hooked within the clip; it does not rest on it.

Racks with heights of up to 7ft can be constructed with loadings of 350Ib per shelf. While the top and bottom shelves are bolted to upright members to ensure rack rigidity, complete adjustability of all intermediate shelf levels is possible at 3in. intervals in each bay. Using the same clip, loads up to 650Ib per shelf can be accepted by bolting only one additional shelf at an intermediate level. Advice is available from the company for the construction of higher shelving including two-tier installations.

It is claimed that the shelf clips can cut installation time by 50 per cent compared with a similar fully-bolted structure. Made by: Dexion Ltd, Dexion House, PO Box 7, Empire Way, Wembley, Middx HA9 OJW.
