Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IT is likely to be at least a month before the full effect on coach bookings of the oil pollution of West Country beaches from the tanker Torrey Canyon is known. The disaster is already a source of great worry to the holiday trade, and cancellation of holiday bookings could result.

While the tours side of the coaching business is unlikely to be affected, the express services to the West Country resorts might well be hit if the pollution proved serious and persistent. London Coastal Coaches' traffic manager, Mr. Corbett, told COMMERCIAL MOTOR this week that it would be at least a month before the full effect on coaching could be judged. The Easter services carried normal loadings and it is normally around Whitsuntide before the summer traffic really begins to pick up. Many people tend to leave their bookings until the last minute and this makes immediate assessment of the full effects very difficult.
