p-,NDON TRANSPORT has announced

details this week of a proposed new Green Line coach route 727, which would be a 74-mile one-man operated express service from Luton to Crawley skirting the western edge of London. The service would connect a number of large towns, providing them with direct links to Heathrow and Gatwick airports, connections with many trains to the North of England and the Midlands from Watford and Luton stations and providing interchange with local bus services to Luton airport.

Towns linked by the new service would include St. Albans, Watford, Rickmansworth, Kingston, Epsom and Reigate, saving passengers between these places time, money and the need for possibly several changes. The route would also enable passengers on trains from the north to change to Green Line coaches at Watford for a 50-minute trip to Heathrow airport:costing 4s. 2d. and saving them the journey into London and out again to the airport.
