Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

EVEN before the re-introduction of the heavy goods vehicle driving licence, public opinion clearly places the long-distance driver in a category superior to other road users, according to a survey carried out by Westminster Research Bureau Ltd. for the Road Haulage Association.

The survey consisted of 2,007 interviews with men throughout the country, representative by age, social class and area of residence of the adult male population.

Types of road user covered, in addition to lorry drivers, were van drivers, bus drivers, taxi drivers, private motorists and motor-cyclists.

Members of the public were asked whether or not they felt that these categories of road user were careful, intelligent, helpful, patient, responsible, non-aggressive and safetyconscious.

Long-distance lorry drivers obtained a clear margin in each case—and in some cases a considerable margin—as the summary here shows.

The question posed by the interviewers: "There are many kinds of road users. By this I mean such people as long-distance lorry drivers, taxi drivers and bus drivers. We would like to know your feelings about such drivers. To do this I have here six groups of opposite words, and I want you to pick out the word which best describes your feelings for each type of road user."
