• The Standing Advisory Committee on Dangerous Substances has made sufficient progress with its work on regulations about the conveyance by road of inflammable liquids, other than petroleum spirit, that a start can be made on a review of the Petroleum Spirit (Conveyance by Road) Regulations, 1957.
Reporting this to MPs just before Parliament rose for the summer recess Mr Richard Sharpies, Minister of State at the Home Office, said that the first meeting of a special working group would be held on September 11.
