• "I shall draw the attention of the applicant to the undesirability of simply failing to turn up," said Mr C. M. Sheridan, East Midland LA, to Mr T. E. Eeley at Oxford last week.

Mr Eeley, representing Dykes Bros (Transport) Ltd, Smith and Son (Bletchingdon) Ltd and Amey Transport Ltd, all of Oxford, was in court to object to an application by Banbury Plant Hire Ltd, of Banbury, to vary its B licence by the addition of one artic low-loader. After one hour Mr Eeley asked that the application be refused for lack of prosecution. The LA granted his request.
