We record with regret the deaths of Ronak Geoffrey Crowther. Walter Hemphrey, Let James and Irene Kearsley.

Crowther, MBE, 71, was chairman of tIn Road Haulage Association from 1956 to 195 and for many years before and after that perioc a leading figure in the RNA. He became t national vice-chairman in 1950 following t year as chairman of the RHA Yorkshire )Wes Riding) Area. At the time of his death M Crowther was chairman of F. Crowther an Son (Wakefield) Ltd, Sandal, Wakefield.

Mr Hemphrey, 78, was chairman of Garrat and Hemphrey Ltd, and associated companies He established the business in 1929 and war a pioneer tipper operator in the East Midlands Mr James, 81, had been a director for a number of years, until he resigned 10 years ago, of Leon Motors Ltd. bus proprietors, Finningley, Doncaster.

Mrs Kearsley, 67. was a former director 01 an Earls Barton transport firm. She and her husband retired to Jersey in 1963, when K. and D. Transport of Earls Barton. of which both were directors, amalgamated with Frank Wills and Sons, of Wellingborough, to form United Carriers.
