• by Pete &Angler Police hunting the killer of a haulier have recovered a white van which they believe was used In the murder: now detectives are appealing for more information about the vehicle.
Martin Silvester was shot in the chest last August as he sat in his black BMW car outside his firm, Silvester Haulage in Pikehelve Street, West Bromwich.
Despite his injuries he managed to drive several hundred yards before crashing outside the Miners Arms pub in nearby Bagnall Street.
Detectives say they have found the white Toyota Hiace van, registration N854SAX, which had been captured on security cameras just before and after the shooting.
Detective Chief Inspector lain O'Brien of West Bromwich police, who is leading the hunt for Mr Silvester's killer, says: "This discovery is a breakthrough in our investigations and the vehicle is still undergoing forensic examination."
