• The Government has introduced the UK's first three 20mph (32Iun/h) zones — in Norwich, Sheffield and Kingston-uponThames.
The Department of Transport must approve all speed limits lower than 30mph (48km/h). The new zones follow guidelines set by the DTp in December.
