Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Record sales over the past six months have been reported by Enco Express, the Dunfermline-based automotive company. Turnover in the garage equipment arm of the company is 50% up on last year's figures. The company has just been elected to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, joining the specialist trade section, the Garage Equipment Association.

"We are looking at a consistent pattern of growth which will continue for the foreseeable future," says Ranald RossWatt, Enco's technical director, who feels the growth has been particularly aided by the trade's enthusiastic response to the Enco disc brake lathe. He believes however, that its top-selling position in the range will shortly be challenged by the Alltest Advantage computerised engine tuner, launched this month.

"The Alltest offers top of the range benefits in a smaller, lighter machine, while being very competitively priced," says Ross-Watt. "So we fully expect it to move into top gear fairly quickly and take over a large sector of the diagnostic equipment market."
