A MARKET research project into tipper design sponsored by the Road Haulage Association and due for publication at the 1981 Tipcon (May 28-31), was given the go-ahead this week when 17 motor and body manufacturers agreed to join the survey.
After an initial meeting between manufacturers and the research organisation, CV Marketing Support Ltd, a pilot study was completed. As a result, most UK manufacturers agreed to join and share the cost of the survey.
The market research will involve a nationwide quota sample of 350 operators covering the whole range of the product from 3.5 to 32.5-tonne vehicles.
The first part of the project involves a survey of operators views on tipper design and this will be presented to the 17 subscribers in confidence shortly before the convention.
The second, covering the whole range of the tipper market, will be formally presented at Tipcon in Harrogate.
